Even as a child, Dr. Talbot wanted to be a equine veterinarian. At a young age, he started as a hotwalker for Gary Jones at Hollywood Park. Dr. Talbot later went on to pursue his dream and became a graduate of the veterinary school at the University of California at Davis in 1981.
Doc Talbot now has over twenty years of experience in general horse health, with a great deal of specialized experience in breeding, lameness, and dentistry - particularly in sport horses. He has worked many years at Golden Eagle Farm and the San Luis Rey Downs Thoroughbred Training Center. Along with Doc's regular clientele, he has happily served as a veterinarian for endurance rides with San Diego Endurance Riders and Bucksnort Challenge.
Dr. Talbot lives on his farm in Valley Center, CA and spends his free time bike riding, desert camping and off-roading with his wife and two teenage sons. He is often accompanied on calls by his dog, Indy.
